“Ultimately, I want to find ways to improve diagnosis, treatment, and the quality of life for patients,” said Dr. Barnholtz-Slaon.
Dr. Barnholtz-Slaon has taught and mentored over 50 trainees at all phases of their interest and career development from high school, undergraduate, graduate and medical students, as well as junior faculty members. She is particularly passionate about mentoring women in cancer research. Several of my female mentees have active research careers in biostatistics and cancer epidemiology
“I gain a tremendous amount of fulfillment from helping people on their professional journey, whether that be helping a trainee learn new things or helping a physician collaborator answer their important questions through data analytics,” said Dr. Barnholtz-Slaon.
